Tony Perry

Tony L. Perry - President
Tony is currently the President of Park State Bank & Trust in Woodland Park, CO. He has worked with several non-profit service organizations to include being a three year board member of Habitat for Humanity and five years working as a volunteer with developmentally disabled adults. Park State Bank & Trust is a locally owned community bank which prides itself in supporting the non-profit and service organizations throughout the community. The bank has dedicated a full time person to work exclusively with those organizations.


Vince Scarlata - Executive Director, Help the Needy
Vince was reared in the Bronx, and received his higher education in Alabama and Massachusetts. He has an extensive background in managing sales and strategic alliances. He has spent the last 25 years in various high-level sales management positions selling computer systems, software and services to worldwide markets. Vince’s career began as a teacher and later moved into the high-tech field where he created and managed sales and service divisions for Fortune 500 companies. Vince has also spent time volunteering as assistant development director for the Wolf Rescue Center; is a senior advisor for an online educational services company; and a Board member for high-tech start-up. He moved to Divide in 1999 with his wife, Rachel. His three children are grown, giving him the opportunity to focus on giving back to the community. Vince’s interest in Help the Needy stems from his early years in the Bronx where he saw community needs not being addressed. During his early years as a teacher he spent time volunteering as an English teacher in the poorest areas of southern Alabama. Later he taught fifth grade subjects at a catholic grade school. In his spare time Vince works as a silversmith and reads history books about the Civil War, World War II and the Indian Wars. His intent with Help the Needy is to grow its visibility to ensure greater funding in order to best serve the needs of our clients. Vince holds an MBA in Organization Development and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education and English.


Mary Gonzales - Board Member
Mary Gonzales is a former Management Analyst with the Federal Government and has been working with Help the Needy since 2002. She served as the Administrator for the Forest Fire Victims Task Force, during the Haymen Fire, and then as the Director of Administration for Help the Needy. She was selected as the CEO of Help the Needy when Greg Schilling retired in 2008 and passed the reins on to Vince Scarlata last October.


Debbie Evans - Board Member. Debbie Evans has lived in Teller County for 26 years. She has worked for the Department of Social Services for 19 years. She currently supervises the Colorado Works Program. Debbie has been involved with Help the Needy since 1997.


Christina G. Rubin was born in San Diego, California. She was raised in Ohio and graduated from Marietta High School in Marietta, Ohio and Kent State University in Kent, Ohio receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Subsequently obtaining a Master’s of Science in Nursing: Community Health and Education and obtained certification as an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner. She has lived in five states and has been a resident of Teller County, Colorado for 10 years, serving as the Director of Public Health for nearly eight years. Chris has served on the Help the Needy Board since September 2007.


Bob Taylor graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Marketing. He has spent his career as marketing professional. The last 15 years of his professional life he was Director of Marketing for the Triple Crown Casinos in Cripple Creek. He retired in July of 2009 and join Help the Needy in 2010 as Marketing Director a new position created by Help the Needy to help increase awareness of this non-profit organization to the residence of Teller County. He and his wife Mary moved to Woodland Park in 2005.


Eileen Zytka is the owner of Clarion Mortgage of the Rockies. She and her family moved to Chipita Park in 1974 and in 1976 Eileen went into the automotive industry and eventually became General Manager of Gene Osborn Lincoln Mercury and also General Manager for Phil Long Mitsubishi. In 1999 she decided to go into the mortgage business, establishing her company in 2000. Eileen has been helping people with their mortgage needs and continues to work and look for new solutions to important issues.


Advisory Board

Greg Schilling - Greg’s mother was an immigrant. He and his wife of fifty-four years are both cradle Catholics. They are the parents of seven children. The family moved to Colorado from New Jersey in 1981. Their youngest child, Andy, was brought up in Teller County. Greg founded Help the Needy in 1982, and for the first ten years was the primary/only interviewer. He was CEO from its foundation until his retirement in 2007. In the beginning HtN also gave clothing and food to the clients. As part of this project HtN distributed Federal Commodities as well as food collected locally. These activities were later given to other agencies.


Jim Ignatius - Teller County Commissioner and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners: Jim has served as a Teller County Commissioner since 2003, representing the 3rd Commissioner District. In addition to his duties as Commissioner he sits on the Board of Directors of the following organizations; Help the Needy, Colorado State Emergency Fire Fund, Colorado Limited Gaming, Limited Government Impact Committee, Woodland Park Downtown Development Authority, Pikes Peak Council of Governments, Teller County Health Advisory Board, Teller County Housing Advisory Board, and Governor Ritter’s Forest Health Advisory Board.


Steve Randolph - Mayor, Woodland Park CO: Steve Randolph has been active in area community building activities for over thirty years. Retired from a career in electronics technology, he currently pursues development of attainable housing, serving on the boards of Habitat for Humanity, the Home Builders Association, and the Housing Advisory Board affiliated with Help the Needy. Recent civic roles have included four years as a Planning Commissioner and then four years on City Council, where he currently fills the position of Mayor of Woodland Park.
